The focus for 8th grade social studies is the story of the history of South Carolina and the role that the state and its people have played in the development of the United States as a nation.

Civil War Test Thursday, January 6th!
Students will take a test on the Civil War on Thursday. They have study guides and notes to help them prepare. We will also do a classroom review on Wednesday! Good luck!

Building of the New Nation Quiz - Thursday, October 21st
The quiz will cover the Articles of Confederation, Constitutional Convention, U.S. Constitution and the first two state constitutions in South Carolina. Students have notes and handouts to study. We will also review in class. Study!

Welcome to the 2010-2011 school year! I hope you are excited about starting the eighth grade. I am looking forward to getting to know all of you and to begin a wonderful history-filled year.
